Ministries
The mission of Peniel Church of God is to win souls for Christ starting with the children. This mission, which reflects Jesus' Great Commission, includes children. Leaders in ministry with children live out the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20) by offering opportunities, resources, and experiences for children infused with the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, so this becomes our primary task as teachers/volunteers of the Children's Ministry. Faith formation for children is not an option.
The mission of the Usher Ministry is to serve on the front lines by welcoming people to our fellowship and preparing them for the Lord's Day and special events. "Whoever speaks is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies..." (1 Peter 4:11). Our ushers welcome the people and provide them with the information and materials they need to enjoy and benefit from the worship service and to help ensure a hospitable, safe, and smooth-flowing worship service.
The mission of the Youth Ministry is to help spiritually train and equip teens and young adults in a fun and Godly atmosphere to the Glory of God. We believe that God has a plan and distinct purpose for every youth, and this is seen many times in the Bible, as God often used young people to do great things. 1 Timothy 4:12 reads, "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers...." We create a safe and welcoming place where our youth can grow in Christian faith and understanding, preparing them to withstand the storms of peer pressure, doubts, insecurities, life-changing decisions, and tragedies.
The mission of the Music ministry is based on 1 Chronicles 16:23-24 "Sing to the Lord, all the earth: his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples." Our goal is to help others connect with and worship God in spirit and truth. With willing hearts and servant's attitudes, we do whatever we can to offer our gifts, time, and talent to make it happen on and off stage.
The Cleaning Ministry here at Peniel Church of God is a critical area of service. We want this building and sanctuary to be a blessing to God and to all who worship here. All of the members of this ministry take their job very seriously; "And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men..." (Colossians 3:23-24). The Cleaning Ministry ensures that our church is clean, organized, and welcoming.
The Media Ministry seeks to carry the Gospel of Jesus Christ to our visually-driven, ever-changing world using technology and media. This ministry provides the technical support required for our worship services, archives teachings, sermon messages, and other events. Media use in ministry is the channel for effectively communicating and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. God chose various methods, media, or ways that are effective for the time to speak to man based on the need of the hearers.
